Tagline: Neighbourhood eyes. Municipal accountability.
What it is:
Street Watch India is a hyperlocal civic app where residents report issues with stray animals, illegal dumping, waterlogging, and neighbourhood hazards โ and actually track what happens next.
The problem:
India has 62 million stray dogs and millions of civic complaints that vanish into WhatsApp forwards and helpline black holes. RWAs are overwhelmed. Municipalities are unaccountable. Nothing gets logged, nothing gets followed up.
What we're building:
- Ward-level dashboards showing open vs. resolved issues
- Photo + GPS-tagged incident reports sent directly to municipal portals
- Community upvoting so the most critical cases rise to the top
- NGO and animal welfare org integration for rapid response
Who it's for:
Urban residents, RWA members, animal welfare volunteers, and civic-minded citizens across Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities.
Looking for: Co-founders, civic tech developers, NGO partners, early beta testers

Appraisal score
StreetWatch India addresses a significant and pervasive problem in Indian cities: the lack of accountability and follow-up on civic complaints. The concept offers a clear value proposition by centralizing reporting, enabling tracking, and fostering community engagement. While the technical feasibility is high, the primary challenge lies in securing municipal integration and ensuring consistent adoption by both citizens and authorities.
