Language Buddy
A peer-to-peer language learning platform for children globally.
Posted by Nasreen Akhtar
What is it?
Textbooks can make language learning pretty dry. Language Buddy is a simple, safe online space where school kids from different countries can connect and learn directly from each other.
Who is it for?
It's built for young students who want to speak a language confidently. For example, a student here in Pakistan can help a kid in the US practice spoken Urdu, and in return, the US student helps them naturally polish their English. It’s all about learning through real, friendly conversations.
Where is it now?
Right now, this is a fresh concept inspired by everyday teaching experiences. I'm currently looking for collaborative minds—creatives and developers—who find this interesting and want to help me shape the first basic prototype.

Appraisal score
Language Buddy offers a compelling approach to language learning by connecting students directly, fostering natural conversation skills. While the concept of peer-to-peer language exchange exists, its specific focus on school-aged children in a safe, structured environment presents a valuable niche. The primary challenge will be ensuring robust safety protocols and effective moderation to build trust among parents and educators.
