The problem: Most renters sign leases they don't fully understand. Dense legal language hides things like auto-renewal traps, unclear maintenance responsibility, and fees that may not even be legal in their state or country. People usually only find out when there's already a dispute — and a lawyer who'll review a single lease is often too expensive to bother with.
The solution: Lease Decoded lets a renter upload a lease (PDF or photo). It rewrites every clause in plain language and flags anything unusual against a region-specific tenant-law rule set, so the renter gets a simple before-you-sign report instead of a wall of legal text.
How it works:
Upload the lease
Each clause gets rewritten in plain English
Clauses are checked against local tenant-protection rules for that region
Renter gets a short report: "Normal" / "Worth asking about" / "Likely illegal or unenforceable here"
Who it's for: First-time renters, students, and anyone moving to a new city or country who doesn't know local tenant law.
What I'm looking for: A developer to help build the document-parsing pipeline, and ideally someone with tenant-rights/legal background in at least one region to build the first rule set.
